Analytical agency TurStat identified the most popular destinations for gastronomic tourism of Russian tourists in the CIS and near abroad.
In addition to Uzbekistan, the five most popular destinations were Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Kazakhstan.
Gastronomic tourism is travels and tours to get acquainted with the region or country through gastronomy, local cuisine and culinary master classes.
The first ten Russian destinations for gastronomic tourism are Moscow,
St. Petersburg, Moscow Region, Vladimir Region, Kazan, Tver Region, Tula Region, Altai Territory, Kaliningrad and Novgorod Regions.
The rating is compiled from the analysis of demand for gastronomic tours. According to TurStat, the most popular gastronomic tours of Russians to CIS countries and near abroad are trips for one week.
