Tea Ceremony in Uzbekistan

Tea ceremony is one of the most wonderful oriental traditions. In every house a guest will be offered a cup (piala) of tea. Tea is poured into the cup (piala) of the host and poured back into the teapot (choynak) three times. Host fills his own cup first, and then offers guests (cups should be a half filled - this allows for the tea cool down rapidly).

Traditionally, the more guest is esteemed, the less tea is poured in his cup (piala).

Tea is served with jam or honey and other kind of sweets.
