The Shukhov Tower (Bukhara Tower) is a metal hyperboloid structure in the historical center of Bukhara, built in 1927-1929 according to the project of V. G. Shukhov on the Registan city square, opposite the Bukhara arch. It served as a water tower. In 1968, the wooden sheathing of its top burned down and the water tank was damaged, after which the tower lost its original function, ceased to be used and became ownerless. In the 1990s, a local businessman added an elevator to the tower, and the top of the tower was turned into a restaurant, which closed after the elevator failed. Found a "second life" with the participation of French investments in 2018. It reopened on March 24, 2019 under a new name - Bukhara Tower.
Currently, it houses a glass elevator, a paid observation deck with binoculars (above), small French restaurants (on the second tier and below), a cafeteria, a tourist information center with a small museum (below).
The architectural monument is included in the "National list of real estate objects of the material cultural heritage of Uzbekistan."
